He invited me down to the Menbdip circuit to meet up and also to see this new sport. That was it... I was also bitten by the bug and within a couple of months I had bought my own 1/8 car and started racing.

It was obvious from the start that I was not going to achieve the success that I had in karting, but nevertheless I loved this new form of sport/pastime.

One thing that I was good at was preparing and tuning engines, and it was not long before I was re-building and tuning motors for my colleagues at Mendip. I approached OPS for engines and spares and they were happy to supply me.
It just sort of snowballed from there really. I started to stock complete race cars and spares above my hi-fi shop in Yeovil...and the rest is, as they say, history!

We now carry cars and spares from some of the most respected and successful manufacturers, both nitro and elctric classes.
Our expertise, born our of plain experience over the years, is really with On-Road, but we have also built up a quite successful Off-Road side to the business.

You will always see us at the MENDIP club's circuit (click here for details) racing and supporting racers with all spares including engines and car spares, fuel and tyres etc etc.
We have been supporting and supplying SERPENT cars and spares for several years now, in fact, outside of the actual trade importers we hold more stock than anyone else in the UK. We are very proud of this fact.
This year, 2010, we have decided to extend our FULL support to include Kyosho 1/8 and 1/10 On Road cars.
We will also support Shepherd cars and spares at a lower level.

Our range now also includes the excellent RACING EXPERIENCE racing fuels which we fully tested successfully in 2009.
KRONOS RACING tyres also sit alongside our existing ATS and EXCEED stock. We are also now a main importer for the Fantastic MICRO YSTEMS Wet tyres......the ONLY tyre that actually works in wet weather.
We already carry a comprehensive range of Nova Rossi engines and spares. Engine r-build and tuning service is also available.

We are happy to announce that both Ashley Gouviea and Danny Ludena will again join YMC as Team Drivers for 2010.
Ashley had his best year yet in 1/8 in 2009 and, considering that he has only been racing competitively for a few short years, his 8th place in the 2009 National Champiopnships was highly commendable.
He fully intends to go at least one or two positions higher this year. We are proud to be of some assistance.

Danny is a newcomer to the British racing scene, having spent most of his formative years in his home country of Venezuela.
His driving ability is without question, but a very real desire to 'make his mark'early on led to some over exberance during the 2009 season. With a little more relaxed attitude...and a MUCH stronger spring on his throttle lever...I feel sure that will see Danny as a regular visitor to the A Finals. A permanent fixture there towards the end of the season hopefully.

Both Danny and Ashley are YMC/CML assisted 1/12 drivers, using the fantastic new Associated RC-12R5.1 car with Novac/Nosram motors and speed controllers.

At YMC we have decided to support Touring Cars now to a higher level and will carry Schumacher and Associated on road cars and spares this year, together with motors
